The school follows the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1-4 with the Foundation Curriculum incorporated into Key Stage 1.
Pupils are taught largely within their own Key Stage groups with all work differentiated to meet individual needs.

Pupil progress is regularly tracked through personal learning targets for each subject and all pupils have been shown, 'to make very good progress.' (OFSTED 2006)
The school follows the OWL Remedial Reading Programme to enable pupils to develop their reading skills with 1:1 support in school and home support.

At Key Stage 4 pupils are able to access externally accredited modules in English, Maths, Science, PE, Skills for Working Life. This is enhanced by a balanced curriculum which includes Art and RE. Pupils are entered for the Edexcel accreditation at Entry 1 and/or 2.

Pupils also have at least 2 weeks' supported work placements within the local area.

Post 16 students work towards the Edexcel Life Skills in; health & safety, cooking & hygiene, shopping, Cleaning, washing & ironing & skills for work. They also work towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme at Bronze and Silver levels. They also work on The Junior Sports' Leader's Awards. Some students enhance their independence by working on the Equals Moving On modules.
